Civita Skillers exists in the middle of two huge gaps. Uganda faces a housing deficit of approximately 2.4 million units and needs to produce more than 48,700 new homes annually, yet many families still reside in overcrowded or substandard housing. At the same time, more than 4 in 10 young people are not in employment, education, or training, which means millions of youth are shut out of the very construction and real estate development opportunities their country urgently needs.

Technical and vocational training is one of the most proven ways to close this skills and opportunity gap. Across Africa, well-designed technical and vocational education and training help young people acquire the practical skills, work habits, and confidence they need to succeed, while also helping employers address critical shortages in sectors such as construction. Civita Skillers takes this one step further by combining hands-on training with real-world projects and business incubation, enabling apprentices to transition into dignified work or start small firms that serve their communities.

Your gift helps us fund scholarships for apprentices who could not otherwise afford training, equip shared workshops with quality tools and safety gear, deliver visiting trade master residencies from Uganda, East Africa, and the United States, and support small construction and real estate-related enterprises emerging from our programs. Each contribution, whether large or small, directly increases the number of young people we can train and the number of safe, well built projects they can deliver.

How to donate

We are still setting up the most efficient international channels for receiving donations. Many common platforms, such as GoFundMe and PayPal, are not yet widely available or cost-effective for organizations operating in Uganda. For now, if you would like to make a donation, please email us, and we will share our banking details and any additional information you may need for a bank transfer or institutional gift.
